Concluding the session

PGC - Main Themes of the Day 9

In most organizations, the last day of a workshop is reserved for key orientations and a closing ceremony. This time, the PGC did not follow this logic by including in the day’s program a time of information on plans to open or close communities in the medium term, attentive to the ongoing reflections of the Provincial Councils.

This was followed by a vote on the decisions prepared throughout the PGC and an evaluation of the session, which concluded with a word from our Very Reverend Father Superior General. In his closing address, Fr. Ngoa Ya Tshihemba emphasized the challenge of trust that must mark our missionary life and action: we must dare to trust one another. He took the opportunity to express his gratitude and that of the PGC for the warm welcome offered by the North American province, the Emmanuel House community, and Assumption University. The same gratitude was extended to all those involved behind the scenes in the material organization of this event. We would like to mention by name Tomasz Jaster and Monica Cote, from the Provincial Office, as well as our translators, brothers Miguel Diaz, Bolivar Lukenzano, Marcel Poirier and Edouard Chatov. Pleased with the experience of our days together, the Superior General declared the second PGC closed.
