To begin with, on December 21, the Assumptionist community in El Paso was very happy to welcome Bishop Mark Seitz, Bishop of El Paso. The purpose of his visit was to meet the community, and in a particular way, to encounter Fr. Chi Ai and Fr. François, who is newly assigned to St. Francis Xavier in El Paso.
At the Bishop’s arrival, he first visited the shelter, specially the restored kitchen, and then volunteers who help in the immigrants’ apostolate. That was very nice since the shelter got some new migrants. After that, the provincial superior and brothers held a meeting with Bishop Mark. The Bishop is really happy to have Assumptionists in his diocese of El Paso. He expressed a need of having a priest who could be committed in the ministry of sick people. He asked Fr. François if he likes that ministry. Without hesitating Fr. François gave a positive answer.
In the afternoon, after Posada at St Francis Xavier Parish, Fr. Chi Ai and Fr. François were introduced to the community of St Francis Xavier and a meal was served. Posada has always been a joyful celebration. Since the mystery of the coming of our savior is being renewed.
