Christ is risen, Alleluia!
Assumption students, faculty, staff and friends gathered in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit to celebrate the Paschal Triduum, the most important days in the Christian calendar extending from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday.
A highlight of the Triduum celebration was the Christian Initiation of Wil Martins ’22. Wil began his Christian formation as an inquirer in Fall 2020. In February 2021, he was accepted as a catechumen and, six weeks ago at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Bishop McManus declared that he was elected for Baptism. Accompanied by his godparent Evan Mello ’22, Wil celebrated Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil in the Chapel last night. Wil’s family and friends, including a number of his classmates, were at the Chapel to support Wil as the Assumption community welcomed this newest member of the Church.
God of undying life,
by your mighty hand
you raised up Jesus from the grave
and appointed him judge of the living and the dead.
Bestow upon those baptized into his death
the power flowing from his resurrection,
that we may proclaim near and far
the pardon and peace you give us.
May God bless you abundantly this Easter!
