Kenyan Born Assumptionist Fr. Simon Njuguna to Preside and Preach
Assumption’s annual Black History Month Mass will be celebrated this Sunday, February 18 at 10 AM in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. Assumptionist Father Simon Njuguna, who is originally from Kenya and now serves as the superior of the Assumptionist Center in Brighton, Massachusetts, will preside and preach at the Mass.
St. Andrews African Choir to Lead Music
The African Choir from St. Andrews Church in Worcester will lead the music at the Black History Month Mass. This choir, which was at Assumption this past summer to lead the music for the farewell Mass for Fr. Michel Kalumba, A.A., includes musicians from various African countries. A reception will follow the Mass in the Lauring Community Room in the Tinsley Campus Ministry Center.
