Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
– Matthew 25:40
Leave a Legacy of Love
Who We Are:
Centered in Jesus Christ and responsive to the needs of the time, we, the Assumptionists in the United States Region, are men of prayer and study living in fraternal community. Committing ourselves to collaborative leadership and formation in the Church, we teach, preach and foster education in all its forms. Driven by the spirit of the founder, we go “wherever God is threatened in man and man is threatened as image of God.” (Rule of Life 4)
Our very reason for being, as Assumptionists, is to be found in our motto: Thy Kingdom Come.
What is a Bequest?
A bequest is a gift written in your will for a loved one or a charity. This gift allows you to leave your legacy with family, friends, or a charity close to your heart. There are two types of bequests:
- A Specific Bequest: you leave a specific amount or valuable possession to someone or an organization.
- Residuary Bequest: You leave the remainder of your assets to a person or organization, after the specific bequests have been distributed.
The details:
To leave your legacy with the Assumptionists, you have a few options: State a specific dollar amount Give the remainder or a percentage of your estate Offer stocks and bonds List the Augustinians of the Assumption as beneficiary of your retirement account Name the Augustinians of the Assumption as beneficiary of your existing life insurance policy
How your bequest will help you:
It costs nothing for you to leave a bequest and there are possible tax benefits for you as well. In addition, you are assured that your requests will be fulfilled as listed in your will. Your bequest will leave you with the wonderful feeling of serving Jesus Christ by supporting the mission of the Augustinians of the Assumption who serve “the least of His brethren”.
How your bequest will help The Assumptionists:
Your bequest will support our three main pillars:
- Education
- Building a community within the church
- Work with the poor
How do I start?
It is very easy to include the Assumptionists in your will. Here is one example: “I give and bequeath to the Augustinians of the Assumption, Brighton, MA the sum of $ (exact dollar amount).” Or by using a percentage of your estate: “I give and bequeath to the Augustinians of the Assumption, Brighton, MA % of the remainder of my estate.”
We choose before all else to work, out of love for Jesus Christ,
for the coming of the Reign of God in ourselves and around us.
