Assumption’s Peer Ministry will host “Brunch and Tea with Peer Ministry” after the 10 AM Mass this Sunday, April 27 in the Lauring Community Room in the Tinsley Campus Ministry Center. All worshippers at the Sunday 10 AM Mass and Assumption students, faculty and staff are invited!

The discovery of the community of the parish “Jesus-Christ Good Shepherd” of Loliondo in Tanzania, was a significant step of the canonical visit in East Africa during February by Fr. Ngoa Ya Tshihemba, Superior General (in the center of the photo) and Fr. Benoît Bigard, Vicar General (to the right), charged with accompanying this Vice-Province.

As the Assumptionists at St. Columbkille Parish, we embarked on a profound journey of faith during Holy Week, reflecting on the significance of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Our celebration began on Palm Sunday, where we commemorated Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem and into our hearts, symbolizing our own welcoming of Christ into our lives.

Cardinal Kevin Farrell made this announcement this morning about the death of Pope Francis: “Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church.

Dear brothers, sisters and friends in the Assumption family, 
Recently, I have read a novel entitled “The Rocking Chair Prophet” by Matthew Kelly, an internationally acclaimed author of Catholic books. The novel tells us about the life of a thirty-three-year-old man called Daniel.

On Good Friday, we journeyed up Mount Cristo Rey with students from the University of Texas at El Paso. Led by the Assumptionists, this Stations of the Cross pilgrimage blended faith, fellowship, and the spirit of reflection. Each step up the mountain echoed Christ’s path of love and sacrifice.
