The Resurrection of Jesus Christ brought profound joy and hope to the early Church. That joy was particularly pronounced because it followed the shock and gloom of Good Friday when Christ’s death seemed to dash all hope.
Throughout the Liturgical Year, there is no day as sad, quiet, gloomy, or empty, as Holy Saturday. The end of a life is so sad. Jesus was laid in a tomb after he was whipped, crowned with thorns, crucified, pierced through the heart, and humiliated. All is just silence!
The entire humanity is in suffering. Life is suffering. People often say: C’est la vie!
Even though life is suffering, sometimes I wonder, is it true? Life is still beautiful, even so beautiful and full of happiness.
Today Jesus, the Master, knelt down to wash his disciples’ feet. As a teacher, Jesus taught his disciples by serving them. The servant disciple is the model which Jesus wants to establish for all his followers.

On March 24, Father Rodel celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving for the completion of the online course on leadership and discipleship led by Brother Hugo at Brighton Assumptionist Center.
The Easter (or Paschal) Triduum from Holy Thursday evening to Easter Sunday are the most important days of the Christian year. All members of the Assumption community are welcome to participate in prayer and worship for these days in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
Yermo School young missionaries and sisters participated in the Palm Sunday celebration and are helping with the Spring clean-up at Guardian Angel Church, which is in the care of Augustinians of the Assumption.
The Lay Assumptionists of St. Anne’s & St. Patrick’s Parish in Fiskdale, MA sponsored their annual Bake Sale for this year’s congregational Solidarity Campaign.
Its huge success will benefit the Assumptionists’ education efforts in East Africa.
Father Julio Navarro Román a.a. passed away on Wednesday, March 13. A Mass in his memory was celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, at the Basilica of Lourdes in Santiago.
