This July, Bro. Hugo Fernando Morales Ballesteros, A.A. made his annual spiritual retreat at the historic Desierto de la Candelaria in Ráquira, Boyacá—Colombia’s second oldest monastery, founded in 1604. Surrounded by silence and prayer, the retreat offered him a deeply renewing experience.
Across the world, the Assumptionist mission comes to life through individuals who serve with quiet strength. One such voice is Magalie Rowe-Torres, CSJA—an Associate Sister of St. Joseph, a Peruvian immigrant, and founder of Latina Center MARIA in Massachusetts.
As part of the Assumptionists Jubilee 2025 celebrations, the General House in Rome welcomed Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Philippines for a memorable visit. His presence brought a deep sense of joy, unity, and spiritual encouragement to the Assumptionist community and the youth pilgrims gathered there.
As the Assumption Jubilee 2025 continues to draw hearts and pilgrims from across the world, a particularly meaningful chapter unfolded in Rome with a reunion of Assumptionists at the General House—the headquarters of the congregation.

For the first time in almost over a decade, 19 Assumptionist brothers and priests from around the world gathered in Ipswich, MA, for a deeply meaningful retreat. As Father Peter Precourt, visiting from El Paso, Texas, shared, this was more than a time of spiritual renewal—it was a long-awaited reunion filled with friendship, reflection, and grace.
