:: Quote of the Day ::

Let us never forget that we desire to incarnate Jesus Christ in ourselves, live from His life, be other Christ’s, and journey together with Him.

 The following can be prayed alone or with family members in your household.

 In the name of the Father,
and of the Son (+),
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Brothers and sisters,
let us acknowledge our sins.

A brief pause for silence follows. Then all recite together the formula of general confession:

 I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Let us pray.

O God, Father of mercies,
whose Only Begotten Son, as he hung upon the Cross,
chose the Blessed Virgin Mary, his Mother,
to be our Mother also,
grant, we pray, that with her loving help
your Church may be more fruitful day by day
and, exulting in the holiness of her children,
may draw to her embrace all the families of the peoples. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

READINGS  (click for readings of the day)

For our bishops and priests as they face the trials and challenges of our times, that they may find in Mary, our Mother, a model of profound trust.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That the sufferings of Jesus and the steadfastness of His Virgin Mother may encourage us to accept our share of the cross in our lives as part of the redeeming work of God in the world.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

That families, the domestic church, might find in Mary a model of courage in difficult times.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For all in need of prayer today, that, in his great mercy, God might deliver them.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

For all who have died and for those who grieve them, especially the mothers who share in Mary’s sorrow, that the grace of the resurrection may lift them up in joy.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.

At the Savior’s command
and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Let us pray.

Having received the pledge of redemption and of life,
we humbly pray, O Lord,
that, with the Blessed Virgin’s motherly help,
your Church may teach all nations
by proclaiming the Gospel
and, through the grace of the outpouring of the Spirit,
fill the whole earth.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

O God,
whose Only Begotten Son
bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation,
hear the prayers of your Church
for our sick brothers and sisters
and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:
Be not afraid, for I am with you always.

Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right
and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name
in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen

May Almighty God bless us,
the Father (+),
and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
