Dear friends and supporters near and far,
We live longer, but life seems shorter because we may not have enough time to finish our work or projects. We live more comfortably, but our relationships with others seem more difficult because we are more isolated than before.
SEND service/immersion trips have been a highlight of an Assumption education for years, and the lives of hundreds of AU students have been transformed by participating in these amazing experiences. This year, we will return to El Paso, Texas where we will immerse ourselves in the reality of the situation at the U.S./Mexico border.
On the Feast Day of St. Augustine, the spiritual father of the Augustinians of the Assumption, Bro, Hugo Morales Ballesteros, A.A. and Bro. Binh Nguyen renewed their vows of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience for the next year.
On Saturday, August 24, 2024, we had the grace to witness the generous response of our Brother Rafael Huerta Ramos: Here I am Lord, to do your will, who pronounced his perpetual vows as a religious of the Congregation of the Augustinians of the Assumption.
On August 13th, I left my home to embark on more than just a 5-day, 40-hour road trip from Boston, Massachusetts to El Paso, Texas. This was a pilgrimage and a symbolic journey to start my missionary work at the St. Francis Xavier Migrant Shelter, a transitional shelter for migrants run by the Augustinians of the Assumption.
Day 1 Highlights: All the pilgrims arrived safely, full of excitement and energy! For the next three days, we’re staying at the Josefino Retreat House, close to Emperatriz Parish in Mexico City. Fr. Sebastien led our Opening Mass, blessing the pilgrims as we began our journey.

I was born on February 26, 1996, in Masaka, Uganda. I am the fifth of nine children in the late Ssenkumba Aloysious Musoke and Immaculate Naggayi family living in Kiwunga-Kyamuliibwa Parish. I received my nursery education from St. Benedict Primary School (2002-2003) and my primary education at St. Leonard Kyamulibwa Primary School (2004–2009). During these years, I began to explore my faith, growing to love the daily rosary and undertaking pilgrimages
The Augustinians of the Assumption in the Congo held their annual retreat in Butembo-Beni, wrapping up on Friday, July 26, 2024. For a week, they focused on “Vulnerability, Mourning, and Figures of Hope.”
The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Roman Catholic holyday of obligation and the patronal feast of Assumption University, will be celebrated on Thursday, August 15. Services in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit will be Morning Prayer at 8 AM, Mass at 12 Noon and Evening Prayer at 5:35 PM
