The Diary of the 137th Annual Novena to St. Anne
St. Anne Shrine – Fiskdale
Administrated by the Assumptionist
The Chaplain of the African Community of the Worcester Diocese, Father Enoch Kyeremateng from St. Joan of Arc parish in Worcester presided the first night of the Novena. Before the Mass, he said that he appreciates sharing his faith with us in such a sacred place. He added that the African people have a strong devotion to Mary, and they share that with our community in Fiskdale.
Father Enoch told the congregation in his homily that we all have a spiritual connection, as a diocese where we share our faith. We are blessed with grace, and Saint Anne is a symbol of that grace. He prayed that we all share that grace with others. While reflecting on today’s Gospel reading, Matthew 11:28-30, Father Enoch stressed three words: come, rest, and yoke. (1) Jesus calls us to come and do what He tells us. (2) Jesus calls us to rest by setting us free so that our heart can be full of peace and serve God. and (3) Jesus calls us to be united, like the yoke, and that gives Him the chance to direct our efforts to Him.
Good St. Anne – Pray for us!
