The weekend of May 13-14 marked the first weekend of masses in the outdoor pavilion at St. Anne’s Shrine in Sturbridge, MA. Fr. Alex Castro, A.A spoke to the and pilgrims before Mass about Father John, who has served the Assumptionist Communities as Novice Master, Assistant General and Provincial, and many other positions. Fr. John Franck, A.A has always been committed to service, to the Church, to the Assumptionists, and to the communities he served.
Fr. Alex also talked about the urgency in the El Paso community. The First Communion class at St. Anne St. Patrick Parish has it as their mission to do what they can to help.
Fr. John’s homily focused on mothers, and how we need to keep a place in our prayer for all of them as we turn our eyes to Mary as Christ’s brothers and sisters. The Mother of Jesus embraces us all. He also led the community in the Hail Mary.
