Members of the Assumptionist community recently joined the faithful of the Diocese of El Paso in a special Lenten pilgrimage to the summit of Cristo Rey, a remarkable mountain peak where Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico meet. This sacred journey, marked by prayer and reflection through the Stations of the Cross, became a powerful sign of unity that reaches beyond borders and languages.
As pilgrims slowly made their way up the mountain, each station invited participants to walk more closely with Christ in His Passion. The physical climb itself became a spiritual offering—an experience of perseverance, silence, and shared faith. Along the path, prayers were lifted for families, communities, migrants, and all those who carry heavy crosses in their daily lives.
Standing at the summit beneath the image of Christ the King, participants were reminded that the Cross is not a symbol of division but of hope that gathers people together. In this place where nations meet, the pilgrimage became a visible expression of communion, reminding everyone present that faith continues to unite hearts across boundaries.
Through moments like these, the Assumptionist mission of presence, prayer, and solidarity continues to take root in the life of the Church and among the people of El Paso.
