El Paso, Texas & Juárez, Mexico
A Changing Reality, A Steady Commitment
As the situation for migrants at the U.S.–Mexico border continues to change, our mission of presence and solidarity remains steadfast. In El Paso, Texas, and across the border in Juárez, Mexico, we continue discerning new ways of being present to families living with uncertainty and fear surrounding immigration.
Pastoral Accompaniment in El Paso and Juárez
Recently, Fr. Peter, accompanied by Br. Daniele, visited ministries in El Paso and Juárez. Their ministry includes pastoral accompaniment at deportation hearings in El Paso, outreach to parish families, and exploring initiatives such as simple English classes to support those navigating daily life with anxiety.
Ongoing Ministry at La Casa del Migrante (Juárez)
At La Casa del Migrante in Juárez, where our brothers have served since February 2025, regular visits continue despite shifting migrant populations. Recent improvements include new lighting in the dining hall, new office and counseling spaces, and the restoration of a chapel and sacristy, helping ensure dignity, care, and prayer for those who pass through the Casa.
Serving with the Sisters on Pera Avenue, El Paso
Br. Daniele also continues ministry with the sisters serving on Pera Avenue in El Paso. In addition to assisting with feeding the poor in the neighborhood, he shares the daily Gospel, seeking to nourish both body and spirit through presence and compassion.
A Pledge of Solidarity at the Border
Though the realities of migration at the El Paso–Juárez border continue to evolve, our presence remains a pledge of solidarity — with those who arrive, those who wait, and those who struggle to survive. We remain open to the guidance of the Spirit as we walk with our brothers and sisters in new and creative ways.
