A Time of Listening and Renewal
Assumptionist brothers from across the Congregation gathered in Tanzania for an international session dedicated to reflecting on what it truly means to live our vocation as a missionary congregation. Through prayer, dialogue, and communal discernment, these days invite us to renew our missionary identity and deepen our commitment to the Gospel.
Remembering the Gift of Mission
One hope shared at the beginning of the session was to remember that religious life is first a gift. When we become focused only on doing mission, we can lose sight of the grace of being missionaries. The sessions encourage creativity, imagination, and honest sharing so that together we may rediscover the heart of our missionary calling.
Mission Is a Shared Calling
Reflecting on questionnaires completed before arriving in Tanzania, the brothers recognized that missionary life involves not only the missionary but also the communities that send and receive him. A missionary is a brother who enters a new community, walks with its people, and discovers the seeds of God’s Kingdom already present in their lives.
Living the Gospel Together
Creative presentations and shared reflections reminded us that mission is more than strategies or best practices. It is a living reality rooted in fraternity, discernment, and the Gospel. As this international session continues, we pray that the Lord will renew our hearts and strengthen us to live our missionary vocation with joy, humility, and hope.
