Listening to the Call to Mission
Fr. Vincent Leclercq, General Secretary for Formation and the convoker of our session, opened our final presentation by reflecting on how we can help brothers become more aware of their personal call to mission throughout the whole of their formation. He invited us to discern a true ‘life project’ within the charism of the Assumption, asking how each of our lives can contribute to bringing about the Kingdom of God in us and around us. He reminded us that God speaks through His Word, our experiences, and the ordinary moments of daily life, continually calling us to mission.
Drafting for the Future
Following Fr. Vincent’s presentation, we began drafting the final document of the session. Father Ngoa, our Superior General, invited us to reflect on how we can improve our missionary practice and live our vocation more authentically in today’s world. It is a challenging process that calls for prayer, patience, attentive listening, and openness to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Please keep our brothers in your prayers as we continue this important work together.
The Gift of Brotherhood
During the afternoon break, one of our brothers visited the parish in Njiro with Noah, a philosophy brother who has become a true rafiki—a dear friend—throughout this journey. There he was able to reunite with Fr. Jackson after many years, a beautiful reminder that wherever the Assumption is present, brothers are never far from one another. The day concluded with a joyful dinner as we celebrated the Independence Day of the Democratic Republic of Congo, sharing in the joy of our Congolese brothers and giving thanks for the gift of fraternity that unites us across nations and cultures.
