On Sunday, February 7, 2025, St. Columbkille Parish expressed gratitude to Assumptionist Brother Hugo Morales, along with Gabriel, Wendy and Deacon William, for leading a spiritual retreat for the OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) group. With a focus on Christian spirituality, Brother Hugo delivered two inspiring talks on the virtues of conversion and hope, as reflected through the lens of Pope Francis.
The retreat brought together a group of members of the parish composed of: 15 adults who will be receiving the 3 sacraments of Christian initiation or completing their Christian initiation in the Catholic church during the upcoming Easter season as well as their sponsors/Godparents and catechists. The retreat will help them to deepen their understanding of their faith and to grow in their spiritual journeys. Through Bro. Hugo’s talks, participants were encouraged to reflect on the importance of conversion and hope in their lives, and to explore how these virtues can guide them in their walk with God.
The event was a beautiful opportunity for the community to come together and to share in the richness of their faith. The reflections and discussions that took place during the retreat were a testament to the power of spiritual growth and the importance of nurturing one’s relationship with God.
