Campus Ministry – Weekly Newsletter

Campus Ministry - Weekly Newsletter

Hello Hounds,

May the joy of Christ’s Resurrection fill us with hope and strengthen us to build a kingdom of love, justice, and mercy.

At the Easter Vigil, we welcomed Aidan Deviney ’27 into the Church through Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. See below for pictures of the Vigil and the rest of Holy Week!

Please keep Ivan Guevara ’26 and Amy Valentine ’26, along with students from the College of the Holy Cross and Anna Maria College in your prayers as they prepare for Confirmation on April 19 at the 7 PM mass in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, presided over by Bishop McManus. A reception will follow.

Thank you to all who supported the Easter Flower Fund—your generosity brought great beauty to our chapel.

This Week:

  • Campus Ministry Programs resume on Tuesday, April 7
  • First Thursday Bagels — April 9, 9-10:30 AM, Lauring Community Room
  • RAM & FAM — after the 10 AM & 7 PM Masses, Lauring Community Room

On Saturday, April 11, we will welcome accepted students for Accept Assumption and a few members of the team will attend an intercollegiate retreat at Merrimack College (10 AM–3 PM). There’s still time to sign up!

Wishing you a blessed and hope-filled Easter!

Luis

Aidan Deviney’s Reception of Sacraments at the Easter Vigil

During Holy Week, please continue to pray for Aidan Deviney from the Class of 2027, as he received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening. Here’s how Aidan encountered Christ in a meaningful way and decided to receive his Sacraments:

“I was born and raised Catholic, but it wasn’t until I became an adult that I truly found God for myself. I began noticing Bible verses on social media that made me reflect and kept drawing me back to faith. After asking for and receiving a Bible for Christmas, my life started to change as I began reading it and wanting to live in a more godly way. Through Bible study, attending Mass at Assumption’s chapel, and the support of campus ministry, I developed a deeper relationship with Christ. I realized that while I had always known of Jesus, I now truly know Him and cannot imagine living my life without Him as my Lord and Savior.”
