Hello Hounds,
We have a number of updates to share on this fifth Sunday of Easter. This will be our second to last newsletter of the year before the Summer break. Please be on the lookout for a survey about the Campus Ministry Newsletter. Your feedback is helpful for us as we consider this format for the next school year.
This Sunday, May 3 will be the final 7PM Mass of the school year. It will also be the final Reception After Mass (10AM) and Food After Mass (7PM) of the school year. The 7PM Mass will be bilingual with members of the Coro of the Hispanic Music Ministry Group from the Cathedral of Saint Paul providing music! A Pupusa (Salvadoran) dinner will follow catered by Hacienda Don Juan.
As a reminder, there will be no mass held on Sunday, May 17 due to the Assumption University commencement. We encourage you to join us for the Saturday, May 16 Baccalaureate Mass in the Plourde Rec Center at 5PM.
A notice is forthcoming regarding these updates along with the Summer worship schedule.
This past week:
Campus Ministry hosted an Eschaton Dinner (End of the Year Mass and Celebration Dinner). We blessed the soon-to-be-graduates (Seniors) during the 5pm Mass, welcomed members of various local Catholic service organizations and retreat programs including the Assumption Mission Associates, Urban Missioners of Our Lady of Hope, Mariandale Retreat Center and more.
We were also joined by Assumption alumni from the Class of 2025. Andrew DeRosa, Gabriel Matraia, and Yaire Hernandez (virtual), joined us to share not only their involvement in Campus Ministry and how it shaped their lives, but also how their faith journey has continued beyond Assumption. See photos here and below.
Upcoming (May the Forth be with you!):
Please review our calendar below for final events and updates. We have reserved all of the Tinsley spaces for studying during reading days and will make sure that we are stocked well with snacks for study breaks in the Lauring Community Room and kitchen.
Monday, May 4 is quite busy as it is the final day of programming at the University. We are hosting a Last Day of Classes Bagels and Doughnuts event in collaboration with the CDIC and the Cross Cultural Center (CCC) in Hagan (Charlie’s) from 9-11AM. We are also hosting a table for De-Stress Fest tomorrow from 4-6PM and concluding our formal programming with Bible Study at 7:30PM.
Seniors, we will be with you for Senior Week on Friday, May 15 in Hagan (Charlie’s Lobby) from 9-11AM for a final end of the year bagels and reflection. Reach out to Dcn. Elmer Vergara, A.A. for more information.
Closing Prayer:
As we journey closer to the end of another academic year at Assumption, may we remember that the disciples felt uncertainty as Jesus was preparing them for a life of service and ministry to others.
“Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?”
While we do not always know the way, may we be assured and consoled in knowing that a place has been prepared for us with God the Father. Let us encourage each other to remain faithful, check-in and lift one another as we enter the summer months.
Please pray for our students, our team, and the Assumption University community as we finish the 2025-2026 school year at Assumption!

You have faith in God; have faith also in me.” – John 14:1
