The Lay Assumptionists at St. Anne & St. Patrick Parish in Sturbridge will be holding their Annual St. Patrick’s Day Bake Sale on March 14th and 15th after the weekend Masses in order to raise money for this years’ Assumptionist Solidarity Campaign Project which is to provide Solar Panels for the radio station, Radio Moto Oicha in the African province of Kivu. Currently, the radio station is powered by fuel which is very expensive. Providing solar panels to power the station will not only improve the station’s financial stability, but also extend its broadcasting hours. It provides reliable and verified information and does everything in its power to promote peace. They are hoping to be able to raise $20,502 which would complete the project.
In the past the bake sale has raised between 1,500 – $2,000 each year, and are hoping to do well this year from the donations of the generous contributors in the parish.
