On Saturday, April 5, Assumptionist Brothers Baraka, Aloysious, and Hugo had the privilege of meeting with a group of CSTM international students at the Faber Jesuit Community. The gathering was a spiritual recollection and conversation, centered on the theme “Jesus calms the storm and the waters; ours, too.”
The Jesuits’ presence and guidance provided a sense of calm and reassurance for the students, who face unique challenges in their academic and cultural journeys. Living far from home, navigating unfamiliar contexts, and striving for excellence can be overwhelming. Yet, in this moment of spiritual recollection, they found solace in sharing their experiences and reflecting on their faith.
The theme resonated deeply with the students’ realities, reminding them that Jesus’ calming presence can soothe their own storms. As they strive to excel academically and build new lives, they were encouraged to trust in God’s peace and guidance.
This encounter was a witness to the power of community and spiritual support in navigating life’s challenges. The brothers and students alike left the gathering enriched, inspired to face their journeys with renewed hope and faith.
