The Assumptionists have staffed Assumption College in Worcester, MA, since its foundation in 1904. We work there as professors of theology, philosophy, music, English, and more; as administrators in the finance office, mission office, and admissions office; and as campus ministers.
President Francesco Cesareo offers three of the many reasons young people choose to study at Assumption:
– It offers a classic liberal arts education and strong business and professional programs.
– Our strong Catholic intellectual tradition immerses students in the works of the world’s greatest writers, thinkers, and artists, in order to explore the connections between faith and reason.
– Assumption is a place where people look out for one another. It is small enough so that people know students as individuals, and large enough for students to find diverse opportunities.
Campus Ministry plays a key role in the life of the campus, as it encourages all members of the college community to be seekers of truth and to bring about a world of justice, peace and love. Its mission is carried out through Catholic liturgies and prayer services; retreats to further spiritual development; community service experiences throughout the world; discussion groups that focus on a variety of topics, such as discernment and men’s and women’s spirituality; and other programs. It strives to give life and meaning to the motto of Assumption College, “Until Christ be formed in you.”
Assumption College is also the home of Emmanuel House, where most of the Assumptionist community lives, alongside those who are postulating in our congregation.
